#2 Conflict

The main problrm in the book would have to be Alice's drug problem. She didnt mean for herself to get cought into a situation like that. She had actually first taken a drug not on her own but was tricked into one. She was at a party one day and they had asked her if she wanted to play a game and she said yes. What she didnt know was that the game had involved drugs in it. Each player had to take a cup of soda and drink it , she didnt see the point of the game , but she did it anyways. After she was back to herself she had asked her friend what had happened and she told her that the point of the gamje was to see which ever person didnt have the drug in it won the game and about four cups didnt have the  the drug in it. Unfortenatley Alice had gotten one with the drug when she asked what type of drug it was they told her it was LSD. After Alice had been to the party she wanted to try to have a " trip " again. She did and that lead to drug use everyday , she had gotten worse and worse. It had gotten so bad that she ran away a few times and had taken drugs and eventually raped. When she has had enough she went back home to her loving and caring family. She had been clean for a while and had over come the problems she had. She made new friends she wasnt involved with drugs anymore and regreted the past. She had realized she made mistakes and didnt want to go back top the life was. She over comed her problems and lived like a normal teen for a while. Evenually her life was taken , but no one knows how , was it an accedental over dose , or did she take her own like? Maybe soemone tried to break into her home and didnt end well , but no one knows the real answer to her death. The best part of the story is that she overcame her drug addiction and lived like a normal teen for a while.

I Can't Go On.

" I dont want to live like this I want to go home , no I need to go home , do these mistakes make me a bad person inside? "

In the book Go Ask Alice , the main character is anonymous , they dont mention her name any where in the book. The main character is a girl who had made bad mistakes , she had gotten addicted to drugs for a while but ended up quitting and then hooked again. In the part where I got the quote from she was currently in San Fransisco with a girl named Chris. She realized the mistakes she made and needed , more like wanted to go home. She had enough of running away and making mistakes so she went to a church and asked a priest to call her parents and he did. Her father had gotten the call and was happy that she was alright and not hurt so he went to go pick her up in San Fransisco with out any question. When she had gotten home she was so happy and promised herself  that she wouldnt do the same mistakes that she had did before.

Im Not Going To Stop

"The doctor said I didnt only have a dietary protien deficiency but something worse. I had developed a bone disease called rickets."

With the horrible ration of  food being given to people who were able to affor food in the war Emma had developed a dietary disease. She had also developed rickets a bone disease because dancing only made thigns worse for her. It didnt help her get anybetter from her food problem. I think this moment is significant because it shows how much Emma loves dancing. She doesnt care what happens to her , she'll keep dancing. Disease or not she knows that her gift is special and she doesnt intend on waisting it. Emma loved dancing so much that  even with the doctor , and her own mother telling her not to dance anymore she still said no to them. That she was gunna keep dancing even if it kills her.

Its not the end.

"The wall behind me had cracked open with a tearing sound and rubble poured through a jagged opening. There was no question now ------ the building had been hit."

One day when Emma was walking home from school there had been a bomb surprise attack near from where she was walking. All the buildings she tried to go in were locked. The shelters that were built had been full or no one was willing to open the door for her. Finally when she ran to a building pounding and puonding on the dorr an old man opened the door and let her in and took her to the basement were his family was. But a bomb had been to close and hit the building they thought that they were safe in. Emma was terrified knowing the building she had been hit. Knowing that she wasnt with her mother scared her , but the thought of not being able to dance anymore if she would die on the spot scared her the most. This is significant because knowing that how dangerous it was getting in the war Emma still went to dance practices until they were canceled.

Its only the truth.

"My father had told me that you could get away with lying once , but eventually you were inevitably caught at it."

Emma had lied to her parents because she didnt want them to find out that she had gone to a dance practice  that they had said no to because she had gotten introuble at school. They had told her that they understood that practice was so important to her but she had to atleast tell the truth on where she was going so that they would know that she was safe where ever she was at at the time. Then she had lied to her parents again saying she was with her bestfriend marcella but she really was at practive. And this moment is significant because it is true you can lie as many times as you want but eventually your going to get cought in your own lies.

It My Year

"I didnt believe that at all. This years Puppenfee was n ot going to be like any other Puppenfee. This was my Puppenfee."

Emma had gotten the lead role in a play that she has been dying to be in since she was a little girl. It was a dream for her to be in it , but instead of just being in it she was going to be the lead role in the play. This is a significant moment because after all of Emmas hard work , she finally got to be in a play. But she also got to be the lead role in the play. And knowing that it was going to be "her" play.

I Can

"There is no such thing as i cant."-66

In the book As the Walts Was Ending a girl named Emma was a dancer. She had a gift for dancing. She loved to dance so much , dancing was just her life she wanted nuthing more then to dance. When she had made it to a private proffesional dance school she had gotten frustrated because she couldnt get a dance move called on point in english. When her teacher came to her and told her "theres no such thing as i cant" Emma had taken that to her heart. This is a signifacant moment because when her teacher said that to her Emma took it to the heart and didnt let anything bring her down or get in her way of dancing.
